Meet Ford! Sweet Ford came into our care after he was found by our rescue partner in Tennessee alone with his siblings. Ford is now fostered locally and is getting ready to meet his forever family. His fosters describe him as sweet and spunky, as well as incredibly handsome.

Ford loves to snuggle, give hugs and is a very sweet boy. Some of his favourite activities are chewing, running around, and playing with his foster siblings. Still a young boy, Ford has a higher energy level and requires regular exercise. He walks well on a leash and loves to run and play in the yard. He sometimes gets nervous when walking on the street and is cautious about his surroundings. Ford is potty trained though he prefers peeing in the yard to peeing on leash.

For loves going out on walks and is comfortable meeting new people and dogs. He greets people nicely in the home as well. Ford has met children as young as three and did very well with them. However, he is still a puppy and proper precautions should be taken to ensure the wellbeing of all family members. Ford's new family will need to ensure slow and proper introductions to new people and dogs. Ford is making leaps and bounds with his confidence and is highly adaptable.

Ford is currently living with two canine foster brothers and gets along with them very well. He enjoys the company of other dogs and gets confidence and guidance from them. We believe he would do best as the second (or third!) dog in a household. He has not yet been tested with cats.

Ford has been left alone for up to four hours and has done well. He is left in his crate to keep him safe and out of trouble. He sleeps well in his crate at night and settles very quickly.

Ford is working on basic training and recall. He loves his treats and learns quickly. Being so young, however, he will need ongoing support from his new family with training. As a condition of the adoption contract, Ford's new family will be required to attend and complete a basic obedience class at their own cost (proof required).

Ford's ideal forever home is a house with a yard outside a busy downtown core. He would do best in a home with other dogs. He is looking for a patient family that will include him in their daily lives and activities, and support him with ongoing training and confidence building. Ford is a lovely boy who is waiting for his perfect forever family. We believe that with the right family, his confidence will show, and he will truly shine.
