Larry

Larry’s Story

Larry / Male / 10 months / 52lbs / Mix Breed / Great Second Dog / Likely Good with Kids / Not Tested with Cats / From Tennessee / Fostered in Scarborough

Meet Larry! Larry was found abandoned with his siblings as a very young pup. Luckily he was taken into rescue and has since made his way to Ontario in search of a loving home. Larry's foster describes him as sweet, playful, loving, and very cuddly. Larry is a one of a kind guy destined to steal your heart.

Larry is a playful dude who loves playing with toys, zooming around in the backyard, and cuddling on the couch with you. When all that is done, he likes resting in his crate. He has an adorable underbite to go with his personality, and big floppy feet. He is convinced he's a lap dog and loves being close to his people and is very friendly, cuddly, and loving. Larry is still a puppy and can be clumsy but also adorable with the sweetest disposition.

Larry is gaining confidence every day and enjoys his walks. He is cautious of big trucks or buses when out on walks. He is interested in meeting new people and other dogs and will sometimes pull towards them but can be redirected. He gets 2 walks a day of 40-45 minutes, plus zoomie playtime in the backyard. Larry also enjoys treat puzzles and chewing on carrots or bully sticks, and chew toys.

Larry is a bit shy when meeting new people but warms up quickly, especially if treats are involved. Larry has a very sweet disposition and with proper intros he would do well with dog savvy kids. He still has some puppy energy and may jump or nip so younger kids may not be ideal for him. Larry currently lives with two other dogs and does great with them. He likely appreciates their guidance and would love a forever home with a resident dog to play and show him the ropes. Larry has not been tested with cats and we are not sure how he would do with them.

Larry is crated when left alone and has done well. He settles easily in his crate and will sleep while his fosters are out. He has been left for up to an hour and a half without issue. He also sleeps in his crate while his foster works from home and hasn't shown any signs of separation anxiety. Larry sleeps through the night in his crate without issue. Larry is potty trained if given adequate potty breaks. He may need an adjustment period when he changes homes.

Larry is working on basic commands but is super treat motivated and eager to learn. Larry's confidence is growing with a little structure and positive reassurance. As a condition of the adoption contract, Larry’s new family will be required to attend and complete a basic obedience class at their own cost (proof required).

Larry would do great in most homes but would love a house with a yard outside the downtown core. He could easily join a family with other dogs, or dog savvy kids. Larry's size and playful nature make him a great companion for older kids, and he’s sure to bring lots of love and laughter to any home. If you're looking for a sweet, goofy pup to share your adventures with, Larry is ready to fill your life with joy!
